Initial values are given to the model, especially for boundaries. Salinity and temperature values, for example, were initially set at 36 PSU and 27 Deg.C respectively. Conditions for tidal elevation at the open (seaward) boundaries were applied following processing in a tidal prediction system (NAO.99b). Fresh water flow data (WRA) were added for three main river sources: Salt River, Rio Cobre and Hope River.
