MGI Awarded Project to Develop a Centralized Knowledge Platform for Climate Action in Jamaica

The Mona GeoInformatics Institute (MGI) with Canadian partner DE Design are currently developing a Central Knowledge Platform for Climate Action for the Climate Change Division (CCD) to be hosted by the Ministry of Economic Growth & Job Creation, Government of Jamaica.

The project is being led by Design + Environment, Incorporated, with MGI’s role for software development, along with project partner Aether, who will be providing monitoring and evaluation support. The project aims to improve the capacity for climate change mitigation and adaptation reporting in Jamaica. The Knowledge Platform is intended to be a ‘hub’ for the sharing of this information and a central point of reference for transparency-related and programming content.

The project is a part of the “Strengthening Jamaica’s Capacity to Meet Transparency Requirements under the Paris Agreement” initiative overseen by the Government of Jamaica with funding from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).
